  1. Update SMB protocol

Is there any chance of updating the SMB implementation? My server logs indicate Solid Explorer is requesting NT LM 0.12, which was introduced in Windows XP. I'm lowering my security settings to allow a connection for now, but it would be lovely not to have to do that. :<

    Hello,

The latest beta of Solid Explorer has support for SMB v2, which is going to replace the old SMB v1 client. For test purposes, the client is available as a separate item in the connection wizard. After the final release, it’s going to be integrated back into one SMB client.

In order to join the beta, please visit this link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/pl.solidexplorer2

Please note, that despite many tests, the new SMB client may still be unstable. Please use with caution. Any feedback will be very appreciated.

I’m glad to announce that the OTG plugin is finished. It supports FAT32 and exFAT partitions in read/write mode. NTFS is also supported, but only in read mode. Maybe write support will be added in the future. As of now, this is all I could manage to implement.

  3. Copy to/Move to

Copy to/Move to function as we have in existing Solid Explorer (to the second panel)

  6. Operation status indicators are way too obstructive and sometimes get stuck.

For example, when I'm doing any copy-paste operation.

    Case 1 -
After paste is done, the checkmark in giant green rectangle appears at the bottom corner. Usually it says there for 2-3 seconds (which is 2 seconds too many). But sometimes, it gets stuck there and doesn't go away even if I navigate to other folders etc. I have to exit the app and reopen to make it go away.

    Case 2 -
If I cancel the paste operation, a cancelled "Operation information" page opens; with a giant red banner at top. This page totally unnecessary IMO. When I cancel…

  7. Batch Rename support

Support for a basic 'Batch Rename' feature accessible from the same 'rename' item upon multi-select would be a great addition to SE 2.0

QuickPic features this and QuickPic's Batch Rename is so simple with it's use of customizable naming template codes.

I thought at first that Solid Explorer should have a same look renamer as the one that QuickPic has but now I am thinking of something a little more dedicated....

...Ok, how about Solid Explorer's 'Batch Rename' initiating in a separate window, just like how the Bookmarks Manager initiates in a separate SE window. With this, SE's batch Rename…

  8. Toolbar flexible (both Bottom or Top)

I have come up with a new idea for the editing tools of the SE 2.0 toolbar and how it can be expanded and newly displayed.

Personally I prefer accessing my tools Copy/Cut/Delete etc from the Top of the screen which is how SE 2.0alpha currently does it, for me it's clearer to use and easier for single-handed operation when holding my phone with one hand.

I certainly do think that 'Rename' and 'Share' should be on the accessible tools for quicker instant use instead of having to open an overflow menu for those.

So in total the new proposed…

  12. See which app created directory

Many apps create files on the internal storage. Often finding out which app is making these files is not obvious. For example, if a folder called cache appears, it would be great if under its properties I can see what app created that folder.

This feature will be available in the next update. However, SE will display app icons only with known folders. It means that the list needs to be updated from time to time. If you notice a folder with no app icon, let me know about that.

  16. Numerical number of folder items - Please extend 'Show folder size' for this

It would be just as nice if SE 2.0 would also display the number of items each folder contains.

This feature is available in another Material Designed file manager named ' Amaze file manager ' - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amaze.filemanager&hl=en

Image preview of Amaze displaying it: http://i.imgur.com/Gc2ZCnD.png

For Solid Explorer 2.0, it should be integrated as part of the new 'Show folder size' feature....

....At first I thought that this item count could be displayed within brackets (**) but then after creating a UI mock-up I am now suggesting to the developer that it could display after a vertical bar which looks like…

  17. A feature to copy directory's path

    Hi!
Can you add a feature which copies a directory's path to clipboard? I dreamed it before 2.0.
It is simple - to copy a path you just need to tap on path.

  20. Share menu like the overflow design featured in QuickPic

At first I was thinking of the latest Chrome browser (v39.0xx) on Android and it's 'Share' menu but then I had a re-think and thought that Solid Explorer users would want to benefit from a faster access 'Share' function instead of clicking through different menus, I hope the developer agrees :)

So now I support the one featuredin QuickPic in whereby it is a slim vertical rectangle that pops up as an overflow but does not reveal the full list of Share-ready apps without the user pressing 'more'....This just looks much smarter and would benefit SE 2.0, see attached screenshot.
