This already works great on tablets and PixelBook2 (ChromeOS)

I found that if you want to be able to read a file directly from the encryption, you need to move the encrypted file to a local drive location. Then opening of the file can bounce right from the encryption. If the files are in Google Drive vice Downloads or something it won't work. I've also found it better to encrypt directories rather than single files.

Comments on USB access need to be consolidated so we can get some movement. There's enough votes on this issue scattered all around but doesn't seem to be getting traction.

Yes, the ability to decrypt these files outside of Solid Explorer if necessary. I mean what do we do if NeatBytes gets bought by Google and they close them down. Will I be able to get to my files or will they be lost forever?

On PixelBook2, can access for reading but not writing. Have to go to the ChromeOS file explorer to write to the SD card.
