    SE2 does have a backup option.

    Navigation pane > Cog wheel > menu button at top right > Backup.

    But this creates a local backup. Now that Marshmallow supports app backups (https://developer.android.com/training/backup/autosyncapi.html), I hope SE2 can implement that. That way, the backup will be saved in user's Google Drive and can be synced across devices. Settings, Bookmarks, Themes - all can be synced in this way.

    The developer had already mentioned in the G+ community several times that the existing unlocker will work for this new version too. Going back on that promise will make several users feel betrayed. The dev is planning a few other IAPs which we can buy to support him.

    Yep, the FAB turning into a toolbar at the bottom of the screen is the better option.
