Add menu button into navigation bar
Simply add (or move) menu button ("...") into navigation bar. You don't need to strain your finger to touch on this.

As far as I know this can’t be added programatically without any system modifications, sorry.

You are wrong. There is a screenshot of Go Launcher that is available in Play Market and don't require root privileges.
