  1. Remove first or last characters -[Batch Rename improvement]

    The developer has already suggested using Regular Expressions to achieve this however to be honest I don't use RegEx and never have even on Windows.

    Solid Explorer users are not coders and should not be expected to be.

    Furthermore, a simple UI space for Removing first/last characters of a long filename should be implemented, IMO

    I have thought about this and have even created a mock-up showing how it could look like within the Batch Rename window. The mock-up shows that it use tap input for the switcher up or down

    I hope this could be added.

  2. Add menu button into navigation bar

    Simply add (or move) menu button ("...") into navigation bar. You don't need to strain your finger to touch on this.
    Here is the example:

  3. grid icon size

    grid icon size should be somehow smaller in alpha, in stable version it is perfect .

  4. Suggestion for bookmark panel

    When there are 4 bookmarks then SE 2.0 shows them all. But when there are 5 or more bookmarks, it shows only the first 3 and we have to click one extra time to access the remaining bookmarks. So please make SE 2.0 show all the bookmarks at once without having to click one more time. Please refer the screenshots attached.

    I would agree if the sidebar contained only storages and bookmarks, but with further updates it will display even more sections and I need to collapse them to take less space. Instead of that I can consider saving the expanded/collapsed state so for example if you expand the bookmark list it will be also expanded when you restart the app.

  5. New cloud under FAB a little pointless

    Seriously, how often do you add a new cloud service? I usually do it once, when I setup Solid after a fresh install. FAB should lead to the actions you do often. I'd suggest having buttons for what appears at the bottom bar when you use the old layout option.

  6. Toolbar and overlow menu polish

    Hi,

    Please see the two attached screenshots.

    I have made some edits into how the toolbar could integrate the 'Rename' and 'Share' by simply adding another toolbar spacing row

    Then for the Overflow menu, I have included 'Copy to' and 'Move to'
    (font used = Trebuchet MS)

    I hope Mr Glodowski, the developer, is pleased with this

    I can’t accept three rows in the action bar, that’s too much, sorry.. I added more actions in tablet mode for now. On phones there’s to little space for that.
    As of the copy to/move to the idea is in planned stage.

  7. Replace the static "My Files" text on top with the current directory (and make the directory bar hide-able).

    What the title says... I think the header bar (I don't know the correct Android term) is too big.

    The title is not static, this is a name of file system you are currently browsing. It’s not consistent yet, but I will improve it. Current directory is already displayed in the breadcrumb and it hides automatically when you scroll the list.

  8. The 'Always' and 'Only once' should swap places

    I just think that the 'Always' and 'Only once' should swap places right to left.

    It should be a very easy swap in placement.

    My reasons for thinking this is because as a user I would not want to quickly and accidentally press "Always" on a particular assigned app when I may wish to clear it especially in this alpha/beta stage of SE 2.0 when the "Manage associations" feature of classic SE has still not been implemented yet

  9. Fonts

    I love material design, except for one element and that is font size. Is it possible to have bigger fonts? Other material design apps seem to have the same problem.

  10. Separate file extension input when creating a 'New File'

    When creating a new file in SE 2.0 alpha there is currently only filename input available.

    Could you add a separate typing input field below this, this field would be for entering the name of the File's extension
