Update SMB protocol
Is there any chance of updating the SMB implementation? My server logs indicate Solid Explorer is requesting NT LM 0.12, which was introduced in Windows XP. I'm lowering my security settings to allow a connection for now, but it would be lovely not to have to do that. :<
Hello,
The latest beta of Solid Explorer has support for SMB v2, which is going to replace the old SMB v1 client. For test purposes, the client is available as a separate item in the connection wizard. After the final release, it’s going to be integrated back into one SMB client.
In order to join the beta, please visit this link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/pl.solidexplorer2
Please note, that despite many tests, the new SMB client may still be unstable. Please use with caution. Any feedback will be very appreciated.

How long before you guys realise that this Dev has left the ship. He has abandoned SE, his last update on anything was at the end od 2016. He no longer responds to anything or anyone. Great thing for those who paid him like I did.
At least I wish he'd give the project to someone who'd continue but alas our only choice appears to be to use xplore or Es explorer or almost any other file explorer since they all now support SMB 2 .
The very fact that the Dev has ignored such a critical update is testament to the abandonment. R.I.P. SE -

X-plore File Manager is doing SMB2 now too - for free! Consider to support it if you use it.

It is not compatible with LAN/SMB 2.0 protocol. I had to re-enable the insecure protocol 1.0 on my Win 10 to have shared folders on my network

The next Windows 10 Update (Fall Creators Update) will drop support for SMB1. Please update to SMB2 so I can continue connecting to my workstation!

Don't get your hopes up. Neatbytes already have your precious $$$, they wouldn't bother.

Other Android file managers are starting to support SMB2 and above. Solid Explorer really needs to catch up.

Guys, at least an update about the issue would be appreciated. If you can do it then say yes, if not then say no. What's the point of not responding to the issue over two months?

As @m-p{3} already noted below, the Google Samba Client can add a SMB3-share directory into the Android file system. These shares are available from Android system file chooser. If you could access these shares from within Solid Explorer you're done! Why to reinvent the wheel again? I think it is no problem to use the Google client for this.

For those looking for a temporary alternative, Google updated their Samba Client to SMBv3

Upon looking at the recent RHEL 7.4 beta guide it seems they are rebasing to version 4.6.2 that means NT1 support is done which means this program will no longer work with samba services. I'm sure Debian has done this already as well. Don't forget to uncomment max client protocol = SMB3 when compiling client.

Please UPDATE SMB Protocol, it doesn´t work anymore to connect/share data from your laptop because of change in the SMB1 protocol in Windows.

Yes especially now when we are now disabling SMB1 in Windows after the ransomware scare

Me too. I just disabled SMB1 after the ransom virus scare and can't get to my administrative shares on my pc. I had to re-enable it.
SMB2 should be supported .... please
