Bug: SE Text Editor swipe not working (Android Keyboard (AOSP)
I am using the Android Keyboard (AOSP) with swype functionality.
in SE Text Edito swiping does not work. Swiping works in FX text editor with the same Keyboard and Settings without any issue.to reproduce open a text file in SE Text Editor then hold down a button and drag to next char, you will see instead of suggesting a word, the Buttons only Pop up. As mentioned everywhere else swiping works without any issue.

Support "overwrite if different" feature when moving/copying files
SE should be able to "overwrite if different" when moving/copying files - this would be very useful in a scenario like where I am syncing my Titanium Backup files to the cloud so that, instead of uploading entire 3GB of data again, it uploads only files modified since last backup/sync (order of few MB).

Truecrypt/VeraCrypt container support
I would totally pay for a TrueCrypt/VeraCrypt storage provider add-on to access my encrypted volumes.

Change the start number in multiple file nername
Actually the multiple rename function always starts from 0 the numeric sequence, it's no possible to set the start sequence from another number. This is useful to reorder a wrong sequence or if is necessary to add new pages in the middle of an old sequence

Disk usage
I'd like to request a disk usage feature, similar to the app SE v1 links to, but built in (and material-esque).
This is one of my two main 'go-tos' for space saving (cache clearing being the other).

File and folder items that are 'Cut' should get briefly grayed out (Windows style)
A grayed out effect for selected files/folders that have been 'Cut' would be a good addition to Solid Explorer 2.0
Don't worry about any damage to Material Design because no fear, the Material Designed latest Gmail app (v5.01) features the exact same grayed-out effect that is shown for when multi selecting emails...
...So this would fit right well with SE 2.0 for when a 'Cut' has been done

Pasted items should remain highlighted after being pasted
I think just as an option only.
Pasted file/folder items should remain highlighted (whatever view mode) so that user can see what has bren pasted.
This is how Windows Explorer and Windoes based 3rd party file manager's do it.
I think this feature should be optional

Support search of PDF metadata
This would better file management of PDF; similar to that available on desktop systems like Mac OS and Windows 7 onwards.

Undo and Redo function
There should be an ability to Undo and Redo up to at least the last 10 operations.
Obviously a 'Delete' cannot be undone because this is Android OS, unless a recycle bin mechanism was written.
The Undo and Redo would be important for:
-Renaming -undo/redo
-Moving files -undo/redo
-NOMEDIA -undo/redo
-creation of Archives -undo/redo
-future FTP and Cloud related things -undo/redo306 votesThe only sensible use cases are file delete and move. File delete can’t be undone until I implement recycle bin. File move can be undone easily, but only if a single file or folder was moved in the same partition. Other cases are too complex and require another file operation to perform.
I’ll implement this feature when the recycle bin will be ready. Both file delete and move. -
Respect .nomedia files
The top of the properties view shows a slideshow of random pictures contained within that directory (or it's subdirectories). It would be great if that slideshow didn't include pictures in folders with a .nomedia file, or those that are in hidden folders.

SFTP: Support password+public key authentication
Solid Explorer currently makes you choose either password or public key authentication when connecting to an SFTP server. I need to be able to connect to a server that requires both. If necessary I can provide credentials for a test account that requires both. Thanks!

Clear cache on exiting app
It used to be there in the old app if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, couldn't find that option with the new one, which only offers a manual "clear cache" button, that too is not very conveniently placed (it's in the overflow menu of the options/settings page). I think cache management should be more transparent than that.
Btw love the new app, great going, would have definitely bought it again (probably should buy some add ons even if I won't use them).

Save file locally
Solid Explorer has a sharing option of "Upload to cloud". But it doesn't have an option to save a file locally (to the phone storage or microSD).
I would really like that option.
That comes in handy with some applications, such as photo editing software, where at the end you get options to share the picture. The problem is that I might not rent to upload to cloud, I may want to save it locally, for later. Solid Explorer does not offer such option. In this area, almost all the competing file managers offer more options, copying to clipboard, etc...…

Share to local folder (instead of cloud)
Hi, I really like the new Solid Explorer. As a former ES File Explorer user, the only thing i miss is the "share to local folder" function. It would be great if you could press the share-button in any application and then have an option to save the file to any local folder. There is already a similar function, but it only allows to save the file to a cloud service, which I do not want.
Thanks :-)17 votes -
