A clear method of Cancelling an ongoing Paste action
When you copy a file/folder in SE 2.0, the Paste action is shown on the FAB however there is no clear way of cancelling this Paste phase.
There needs to be a method of cancelling a Paste or just relegating it to a background Clipboard function (another idea request entirely, lol)23 votes
Minor bugs related to rename
1) .pdf gives the Adobe icon, .PDF does not
2) unable to change capitals
I know, minor bugs, but nice if they can be solved3 votes
move to instead of cut and paste
When moving a file larger than remaining free space, old solid explorer moved fine, whereas 2.0 appears to attempt to copy before deleting at all, giving an error regarding space remaining.12 votes
Editing Cloud connections doesn't work
Updating cloud connections doesn't work.
1 create a valid dropbox or Google Drive connections.
2 go to connection manager
3 choose a overflow button and choose edit
4 press next, press connect, see that the connection fails.
Because this fails, it's not possible to change the name of the connection or do anything else without logging out and in again.8 votes

Setting to Disable thumbnails for all Image and Video files
Especially for cache purposes, it would be nice if there was an option in the Settings in future to be able to disable auto-generated thumbnails altogether in Solid Explorer 2.0

Drag and drop cancellation method
Drag and Drop improvement -
I think it would be a great idea if the accent-colored Floating Action button in SE 2.0 changed into a Red colour with an X just as a means of cancelling a file(s) Drag and drop.
A user would simply Drag the files/folders onto Red circle and then the Drag and Drop would be cancelled.
Currently in SE 2.0 alpha (and in classic SE 1.6x too) there is no ability to cancel a drag and drop.43 votes
Future plugin idea - Advanced Metadata for file 'Properties'
A MetaData view for media files (Image, video, audio) that would display detailed and advanced information.

an Apply button for the View-changer menu
Please consider adding an 'Apply' button for the View-changer menu so that users have affirmed confirmation that their custom View setting has just been applied.
Currently user has to press Android back button which would close the menu and save/apply the View setting (if changed).
In an attached screenshot I have visualized using the new UI 'Green tick' as a means of pressing apply to apply the setting (please see attached screenshot)8 votes
automatic night mode
An automatico night mode (with the dark Theme) will be really beautiful! You select the time from/to and the app will change automatically from light to dark theme! This will be very useful for the night vision.24 votes
Sd card and usb otg storage eject option like in FX EXPLORER with a widgets toggle option
Try FX would be my second choice of Explorer if it wasn't for solid but there is a option I really like to see and that the option to eject the sd card from the Explorer it would also help if there was a widgets toggle (show size & on or off status) for the sd card and40 votes
Let me begin by saying that I've been using Solid explorer since the original beta. I'm also a huge fan of material design. A few months ago when the first file manager came out with material design, I installed it right away. It looked good, great even, but half a minute in, while trying to do some basic copy paste type operation, it hit me just how poorly it functioned as a file manager. It was clunky and unintuitive. Back to the comforting embrace of Solid I went. In the coming weeks, a couple more material style file managers were released, all just as clunky as the next.
Solid Explorer never followed the Holo design scheme to a T, but it fit in with the system. In my opinion, even improved on it. What Solid does best though, is be completely intuitive. It's one of the most full featured managers, yet the easiest to comprehend.
I say this in hopes that you will look to your design language in the original Solid explorer and bring more of it to the new version.
For example, I find the bottom action bar in Solid explorer far more useful than the FAB in the alpha. Another great thing about the bottom action bar, is that (especially on big phones) you can accomplish any action one handed with your thumb. In the alpha, with the overflow in the top right, it becomes a two handed operation.
Another thing your original Solid explorer does that I love, is the dialog that pops up on a long press. It looks great, has the options you need, and functions exactly as one would expect. The copy/move to the adjacent pane is the icing on the cake. It makes moving files around on a phone screen a million times better. The long press dialog is another item that can be done holding the phone with one hand. This too I find far superior to the FAB.
The alpha does look great however, and the hamburger menu is an improvement over the original. As a folder loads the files, the animations swooping up look amazing.
You do amazing work, and I think material design would benefit from your UI implementations

Please rebirth the lovely pleasant Splash screen into SE 2.0
It featured a centered app icon accompanied with the text "Solid Explorer" and text "Loading..."
Also be observant of Android devices with higher resolution screens such as Full HD (1920x1080), QHD (2460x1440) and even future 4K screens too ()

Why do we have to go through so many pages to setup a connection
I tried to connect to my local ftp server, and I had to go through many pages in order to create the connection : one for connection type, the next for server info..etc. I think all of these information should be in a single page, it will be easier and quicker to set up.32 votes
