There are 2 ways you can do it manually. Outlook provides a built-in feature to archive older items from your main PST file to a separate archive PST file. This helps reduce the size of your main PST file without deleting any data permanently.

Outlook's Import/Export wizard can also be used to export specific folders or items from your main PST file into new PST files. This method gives you more control over what data is exported.

To perform these tasks, you should be familiar with the Outlook features and there are some limitations as well there is a chance of data loss and corruption if its not doe carefully, time consuming if it’s a large PST file.

However, you can avoid this by using a 3rd party PST splitter tool like Stellar Splitter for Outlook. You can easily split you PST files in just a few clicks.

Here are the steps you can follow to use the software

    1. Download and install and Launch Stellar Splitter for Outlook tool
    2. Now you can search for PST files that you want to Split
    3. Then choose specific criteria for splitting large PST files in multiple parts like by date, by size and by email id etc.
    4. Choose the location where you want to save your splitted PST files

For more information you can visit here: https://www.stellarinfo.com/split-pst-file.php

Hope this tool will be helpful for you.

To import your PST files into Office 365, there are various methods each explained below with its limitations.

    1. Network Upload Method: In this method you can upload PST files to Azure storage and then import to Office 365. It Requires technical expertise, adequate network bandwidth, and Azure storage costs. Large PST files can be time-consuming to upload.

    2. Drive Shipping: This method allows you to ship physical hard drives containing PST files to Microsoft for upload. This has lot of limitations like its too Expensive (approximately $2,000 USD for 1 TB drive). Delays can happen due to shipping time. It can hamper security concerns during transit in case the hard drive damaged or lost.

    3. PowerShell Command: It requires PowerShell knowledge, administrative permissions, and careful scripting to avoid errors.

    Hi everyone,

Importing PST files into Office 365 isn't easy, it requires a lot of technical knowledge and some permissions. There are several methods available for this task, including network upload, drive shipping, and PowerShell commands. For a detailed step-by-step guide, you can refer to: https://www.stellarinfo.com/article/migrate-outlook-pst-Office-365.php

However, manual methods have their limitations. Network uploads and PowerShell commands require advanced technical skills and proper permissions. Additionally, drive shipping can incur substantial costs; for instance, shipping a 1,000 GB (1 TB) hard drive with PST files can cost around $2,000 USD.
