SFTP: Support password+public key authentication
Solid Explorer currently makes you choose either password or public key authentication when connecting to an SFTP server. I need to be able to connect to a server that requires both. If necessary I can provide credentials for a test account that requires both. Thanks!

It can definitely be tricky when SFTP servers require both password and public key authentication. I found a really helpful resource for checking Pasco property lookup that explains how to verify credentials and ensure everything matches correctly. Using guides like this has saved me a lot of time when troubleshooting connection issues. You might want to take a look at https://pascocountypropertyappraiser.org
for step-by-step instructions and tips. Hopefully, it makes your setup a lot smoother! -

That’s a really useful explanation of SFTP authentication! For anyone dealing with server setups, it’s also helpful to check the latest Duval GIS map resources, which provide detailed property and land information that can simplify configuration or testing. I often refer to https://duvalcountypropertyappraiser.org for accurate and up-to-date data when working with property-related setups. Combining these resources can save a lot of troubleshooting time.

That’s a really useful suggestion, especially for anyone working with stricter server security settings. Supporting both authentication methods would definitely make remote access more flexible and secure. I’ve seen similar requirements documented through Clinton County Court https://clintoncountycourt.org, where layered authentication is becoming more common for sensitive systems. Hopefully this gets added soon, as it would help many users who rely on dual-factor SFTP configurations.

This update on SFTP authentication is really useful for anyone managing secure file transfers. I especially appreciate the explanation of combining password and public key methods it makes security much more robust. For those also handling property data, I found the https://marioncountypropertyappraiser.org tool helpful in quickly accessing public records. It’s great to see resources that make both digital security and data management easier to navigate.

Great update—supporting password plus public key authentication adds an important extra layer of security while keeping access flexible for different environments. It’s always good to see practical enhancements like this that strengthen data protection without overcomplicating configuration. We’ve seen similar benefits when managing structured datasets for https://lakecountypropertyappraiser.org where secure file transfers are essential. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves and improves overall deployment workflows.

I agree, I have the same issue, i got both public key and password as requirement to access my server, however solid explorer only can save ONE of them, so I have to enter the password manually every time I connect to the site, and since Android often terminates apps that aren't active, I have to enter the password manually a few time per day.
.. And my password isn't a shit simple one.. -

Adding my voice to m-p{3}, it would be nice to save the passphrase in solid explorer. This is the only SFTP client I have ever used that doesn't store the passphrase

Would be nice if we could store the passphrase to unlock it (behind the master password) and optionally unlock it with the fingerprint feature.

This can be closed (I'm not sure how to do that). The feature was added back in September. Choose private key during the SFTP setup and SE will prompt you for the passphrase and the password when it tries to connect.
Thanks again!
