How to Recover OST Data After Hardware Failure on My PC?

Last week, my hard drive malfunctioned, and although I managed to recover the OST file, Outlook refuses to open it. Is there any way to extract emails and contacts from the recovered OST file without reconnecting to the Exchange Server?
