Add an option for ftp connection keep alive

When manipulating files over sftp, a connection is opened for every action (copy, move, open image etc.).
Would it be possible to keep the initial connection alive and do everything over the single connection?

    I'm having trouble with transfering large file counts with SE via SFTP or FTP. Appears to be due to server closing connection due to lack of keep alive. Please add this to advanced options.
