1. A review of and solution to empty folder issue

   As I understand, it was optional to show folder size in SE but enabling it was slowing down folder listing significantly [1.1]. So, instead of computing size of folders, SE adopted a smart approach of looking in Android's file database, MediaStore [1.2]. Some users demanded to see the number of items in a folder next to folder size and this was also implemented [1.3].

   Currently, Solid Explorer can display total count and size of files contained in a folder including all subdirectories unlike other apps. However, accuracy of this information depends on Android’s media scanner. Android’s file database is updated instantly when doing copy & paste operations. However, a file doesn’t seem to be added to Android’s file database in a plausible time after an app creates that file [2.1, 2.2, 2.3]. Some users report that folder size bug is an old one [2.4, 2.5]. The problem seems to compromise FTP [2.3] and FTPS folders [2.6]. SE FAQ recommends waiting but waiting one hour doesn’t help to show that folders are not empty.

   Showing folder size is a useful feature of SE. It helps to see which folder is consuming much space and accuracy doesn’t matter much for this purpose. However, since users are inclined to delete empty folders [3.1], accuracy matters when a nonempty folder is about to be shown as empty. Some of my nonempty folders gone forever which are deleted based on this false information. Some users are waiting for recycle bin [no need for reference] and some users want to see size on confirmation dialog [3.5, 3.6, 3.7].

   I have some suggestions for empty folder issue. My first suggestion is that SE should continue to get folder size info from Android's file database. That is helpful although is not always accurate. However, total count of files can be replaced with accurate number of first level items. The original proposal of extending folder size info [1.3] didn’t mention to use total count of files but gave examples from an app that count only list first level items. The accurate number of first level items will be more informative than inaccurate number of total number of files. Already, there are many votes to skip amount of files in child folders [4.1]. Reporting the number of first level folders and files separately will also make many users happy [4.2]. So, instead of reporting two inaccurate data i.e. [3141 files | 303 MB], it is better to use at least one accurate data i.e. either [5 items | 303 MB] or [4 folders | 1 file | 303 MB]. This approach is also suitable for situations where folder size can’t be shown. SE choose not to display any count or size information about folders which Android's file database doesn’t provide information (i.e. cloud folders). However, displaying accurate number of first level items is better than displaying nothing.

   My second suggestion is a little experimental but I have to say it. I mentioned that there are some situations where Android's file database is not updated after an app creates a file. That file will not be added to database in a reasonable time because Android runs a full media scan only on reboot and when (re)mounting the sd card. However, it is possible to trigger media scanner even on specific folder [5.1, 5.2]. There is also an app called Media.Re.Scan for this purpose [5.3]. So, seeing a folder as empty even after waiting some time is not impossible to fix inside the app but may be cumbersome and frustrating.

4. Give the option that can remember last password encrypt for re-encrypt file

   I already post about that do not re-create the the encrypted file / folder after decrypt it, now what I want to discuss is it assume that you're already fix / work it on my post before, and if already I recommend to give user option that can remember last password for decrypted file / folder, so user can re-encrypt without re-type the password just select encrypt and that file / folder is automatically encrypted

5. Decrypt file without creating a new file

   Every time, I decrypt the file / folder the solid explorer do create the same file / folder as encrypted file / folder, it's annoying I think. Why you don't just decrypt the file / folder without creating the new one

7. SE image viewer small size images better management & double tap

   in SE image viewer ,there is no way to see the image in it's 100% size if the image is smaller than the screen resolution
   because SE image will allways try to scale it.

   simple suggestion :
   double tap = toggle between 100% zoom and Fit to window.

8. Can't add Google Drive, SE is installed on Fire TV Stick. Could this be the problem?

   Above says idea, suggestion or decribe your problem. Why does the screen change with two options, Suggestions or Ideas, no button for PROBLEMS. Below is button "Post Idea" where is the "Post Problem" button????

   I just want muti windows on explorer
   Right now can only keep/have 2 windows side by side
   Like I have 3 partition windows in sidebar Root,Internal,Sdcard

10. Can't browse folders anymore after updating Chrome OS to v 72/Android 9

    I can't browse folders any longer after updating to Chrome OS 72.0.3626.97 and Android 9 on my Pixelbook.
    When I click on a folder with the trackpad it selects the folder instead of open it! (Doing a Long Press) But when I click the folder with touchpad it works fine!

11. Does Solid Explorer support remote NAS access?

    As in, NOT on the same LAN. I'm using Synology. I can access via every other platform via a DDNS server, but I've tried and tried on Solid - error every time.

    Tried WebDav too, not that this is the solution I want, but this fails too.

    I can setup on LAN no problem.

    I am solid exolorer user. I am very happy with full app and I use it from some years ago... but from a month (more or less) ago I have this problem with OneDrive (I have a office 365 account), I can not connect (see attacht picture)...

14. I can only access the software while Online

    If I open the software while offline I am told that my free trial has expired. I can only use my paid for version if I turn on my WiFi. Do I need to enter a redemption code so I can work offline?

15. Can not connect to WebDAV (HTTPS) with self signed certificate

    Got the message 'there was a problem with ssl communication', I know it is not safe with self signed certificate, but it will be good to add an option of ignoring the risk.

16. Drag and drop animation bugged after update to v2.5.7

    V257 when upgrading, the copy /move drag and drop animation is not working anymore.

    Ie. When folders are selected by holding down so they can be dragged to the other pane the folders disappear visually instead of seeing the animation of them being moved.

    The copy or move still works but you have to trust the selection is still there.

    On my Samsung Tab s I have v254 and that works perfectly still but after updating that the bug is there. As that is rooted I can return to 2.54

    Needs to be fixed

18. SD card analyst

    It would be great of SD card analyst is implemented. Problem with sorting files as size is that when you click on a folder, it again sorts according to names. So It properly analyse filed we need to sort again and again according to their Size. It fells very dumb. So a separate feature for analysing SD would be great.
