  1. Hotkey Support

    The app supports basic keyboard operations (typing & movement with the arrow keys). However, I would like to be able to use standard keyboard shortcuts for file management (e.g., ctrl+x/c/v for cut/copy/paste; alt+backspace for back). With the upcoming addition of Android apps to ChromeOS, this would be an excellent way to future-proof the app and make it a strong contender against the native Files browser, which is kind of not great.

    Also, it would make existing workflow on a tablet that much more efficient. :)

  2. Ability to manage smartphone files via PC wirelessly with preview

    Just as I have thumbnail pictures and do streaming cloud service songs like Goolge Drive and OneDrive for example, I should be able to do the same things with smartphone files on PC. The difference is that the smartphone would be the server. With FTP plugin I can't open any files. To do this I have to copy them to my PC. Photo files for example usually have large and strange names, it's difficult to identify one among many. Also I can't move folders and files within the device, only create new ones and copy.   3. Bottom context toolbar enabled > rename file option selected > paste button should appear on the bar

    That way the process is sped up if you're pasting a file name, because whatever is before the extension is already highlighted. Either that, or ask what to do with the highlighted text (cut, copy, paste) immediately.

  4. USER PICTURE ICONS in bookmarks/favorites (or even all folders)

    The folder icons are plain and they don't stand out (I found myself staring at them) ... It could be a 'deal maker' if you made this so you could have user picture icons for the folders - instant recognition of where to go. (I don't think anybody else does this, so you would stand out from all the look alikes.)

  6. Checksum for folder

    Previously I was on ES, they have a feature to see the checksum (md5 and sha1) for a whole folder. Checksum feature is present for individual files in Solid, but not for whole folder at once.

  7. Send files or folders via Wlan

    Hey !!
    When we share a file or a folder or anything from SE, it would be a great option to have a Send via Wlan or Share with people on the same network option. For example me and my brother are using the SE and I want to share some folder with him. I just ask him to open SE and then I open SE on my phone, select folder, click on Share, select Send to Network, select his device and done !!

  10. FTP webpage with drag and drop upload & download

    A FTP webpage with drag and drop feature would be very handy.

    No more configuration for ftp connection, simply turn on the FTP webpage via widget and move the data to the screen, the data will be uploadet automatically.
    For downloads simply click on it.

  11. Mega plugin: shared folders from friends in Mega are not shown in SE

  13. NFS Support

    It would be nice if the app would provide NFS support. The libnfs library has existing android support https://github.com/sahlberg/libnfs. It is already being used by the Kodi app.

    Support more archive formats as (maybe as plugin):
    Extract and create Zip/Zip64 (splitted-encrypted), TAR.GZ, TAR.BZ2 (very helpful for TitaniumBackup), GZIP, BZIP2 and extract RAR (splitted-encrypted, RAR5), XZ, APM, CAB, ISO, ARJ, AR, LZH, LHA, CHM, MSI, WIM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB, NSIS, LZMA, NTFS, FAT, VHD, MBR, SWM, MSLZ, CramFS, Dmg, ELF, MachO, Mub, PE, Split, Xar, Z, Udf, HFS, SquashFS, PPMD.

    This can be the best file manager on Android! :)

    Please add the option to have more side by side panels rather than merely 2.
    It will be useful especially for large devices such as tablets in landscape.

  17. Trigger Media Scan

    Automatically triggering a media scan would be ideal after performing an operation on Solid Explorer.

    Or, if that could have considerable disadvantages, then a simple option / button to trigger a media scan would be ideal too

  18. Samba Server plugin

    I'd love to see a Samba Server plugin for Solid Explorer, similar to the FTP Server plugin, which makes the Android device itself act as a Samba server. This would make it easy and convenient to connect to the device from a PC or Mac, and even to map the device to the PC as a Windows drive letter (ie. network folder). This would be even more convenient than FTP, for sharing files to and from the Android device.

    There was an Android app called SambaDroid which did exactly this, but it doesn't work on the latest versions of Android…

  20. Support search of PDF metadata

    This would better file management of PDF; similar to that available on desktop systems like Mac OS and Windows 7 onwards.
