Design suggestions
I don't think that there should be icons in menus that appear when you touch the three dot icon. It's just way too much, in my opinion. I've never seen icons in these menus at any Google's app. They are supposed to be as simple as possible, and shouldn't try to be too fancy and information heavy. So, simple text without icons in three dot menus is my first suggestion.
The second one - color of status bar seems to be too dark. Changing the opacity level of the overlay might do the trick. But again, it's just my feeling. Maybe it's right that way.

If you want to design symbols or special characters, then I will suggest you use fbsymbols for this purpose. It will guide you on how to make a proper design and also show you suggestions related to your search, so it is the best option for designing.

design concept is the core idea driving the design of a product, explained via https://webdesign-dortmund.net/ a collection of sketches, images, and a written statement. This helps the designers and, later, the developers stay on track throughout the creative process, ensuring they bring a product to market with value to target users.visit https://website-agentur.net/

As of the status bar being too dark, it's a little complicated. If I want to set my own status bar color I need to get rid of the transparency. This will move down the ui and navigation drawer won't slide under the status bar. In order to keep the drawer sliding under the status bar I need to leave its default color as is.
It's a shame that Google didn't prepare convenient solution for that. -

of course, Icons should stay in menus, they are sometimes really helpful and make finding appropriate option easier

I agree with Erik. It's easier to find an option when it has an icon beside.
The guidelines say to not include icons in menus, however I treat them like a design suggestion, not obligatory requirement. I don't want to make Solid Explorer look the same like all other apps. There must be a difference.
I agree with the status bar color, it needs to be fixed.

I actually like the icons in the menu. Its true that it doesn't follow the design spec of Google, but on the other hand it doesn't neccesarily needs to be if the majority of the app already does. Also, research has proven that icons plus labels actually help users finding the options they need faster.indeed, without thinking about it,after the 10th time or so I opened the app,I navigated the menu using the icons.
Altogether, I think its a matter of orronal preference.
